At DCRC we speak the language of the Deaf/ DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing Community (Deaf Community). DCRC aims to serve the needs of the deaf community through all phases of life, birth through end of life, by providing advocacy, day to day support, and education for both the deaf and hard of hearing individuals and those who interact with them.
DCRC is committed to being a safe haven where services for deaf/deafblind and hard of hearing and their families are provided by deaf with hard of hearing and hearing allies. DCRC is committed to fostering an atmosphere where the Deaf Community can experience access to communication to further inclusion, opportunities, equality and belonging with family, friends, coworkers, and community. 

DCRC is a CARF accredited 501 (c) 3 organization offering services in more than a dozen counties in Ohio.
​Services include

Early Intervention, free of charge to families with children birth to age three with a diagnosed hearing loss. Available in Montgomery, Greene, Clark, Darke, Miami, Shelby, Champaign, Logan, Mercer, and Preble Counties. Provided in conjunction with Help Me Grow/Brighter Futures and the Department of Developmental Disabilities.

Community Support, with 2 offices locations, but serving a large area of West Central Ohio- Dayton, our main business office and Springfield, our satellite office. Lovingly called Case Management, this service provides support, information, and advocacy for deaf individuals navigating a hearing world AND hearing individuals navigating a deaf world. With information and referral, DCRC links people to services.

Vocational Support works with individuals age 14 and older to navigate the world of work. Whether assisting with application for a job (resume and interview skills), teaching how to keep a job (work ethics and job skills), or seeking advancement (training and continuing education, including self-advocacy skills) to experience a better quality of life, DCRC can help.

Family and School Support for school age children. Need IEP support, in-service training for teachers new to working with deaf/ hh students? We can help.

Deaf Mentor- Parents, are you looking for help understanding your child's deaf/hard-of-hearing experience? Does your child/ teen question what it is like to be a deaf adult?  Is your family looking for ways to better communicate? A Deaf Mentor can help.

Kids Activities including camps, language development opportunities, and parent-to-parent support.

Senior Citizen Support- Monthly Socials are up and running again with COVID safe precautions in place. Check out the flyer on the events page. We continue to advocate for the needs of our senior citizens. 

ASL Classes- DCRC offers affordable classes to introduce the community to the beautiful and expressive language of American Sign Language (ASL). Both in-person and on-line classes are available. Whether you are a parent who just found out you child has a hearing loss, a co-worker who wants to make a new employee feel more comfortable, a life-long learner wishing to expand your horizons, a pre-school teacher/day-care provider trying to help de-stress your students, salesperson, scuba diver or other, you will be glad you learned ASL. Classes are offered 3 times a year with tutoring and special event/ continuing education classes available year-round.
